Meet Sergio Diaz de Leon, our new Chief Operating Officer
More than 40 years in textiles and nonwovens
Sergio is a chemical engineer with more than 40 years of international experience in the textile and nonwoven manufacturing industry. He has led multi-site plant turnarounds and greenfield start-ups across the Americas, Asia and Europe, including operations in China, Spain, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and the USA. Most recently, he was Plant Director at Magnera in the USA.
An innovator and a champion of sustainable manufacturing
Sergio is a strong advocate for the circular economy and sustainable manufacturing. He has pioneered recycling programmes across three continents and holds 21 US patents and nine international patents. That mix of operational experience, nonwoven expertise and commitment to sustainability fits closely with Confitex Technology’s purpose: transforming millions of lives and keeping billions of plastics out of our ecosystem.
